ANTONIO MENIN

Padovano, classe 1966.

Dopo la consueta gavetta, dove si fa le ossa collaborando con varie realtà editoriali, debutta nel mondo dell’arte sequenziale professionista nel 1994, arrivando finalista a PRATOCOMICS, concorso per autori emergenti.

Subito inizia a lavorare con piccole case editrici del triveneto, fanzines e piccole autoproduzioni, si dedica anche all’illustrazione vera e propria, realizzando disegni e animazioni per piccole pubblicità.

Nel 2001 inizia la collaborazione con le EDIZIONI ORIONE di Torino, per le quali da il suo apporto alla collana Fantasy Warriors, disegnando quattro numeri della testata ARES.

E’ in questo periodo che inizia una collaborazione con CEDRIC RASSAT, creando assieme a lui il progetto pensato per GLENAT “TONY PASTELLO”.

Approda alla FREE BOOKS nel 2004, dove si presta a narrare le gesta della creatura di Giuseppe Di Bernardo e Andrea J. Polidori, DESDY METUS, L'INSONNE.

Nel 2005 Federico Memola gli chiede di entrare a far parte dello staff che realizzerà JONATHAN STEELE per la STAR COMICS, con la quale collabora tuttora.

L’Ultimo albo (il quarto) da lui realizzato, esce con il titolo “L’ARTE DEL FURTO”.

Dal 2006 collabora anche con agenzie di comunicazione del Veneto, realizzando illustrazioni, storyboard pubblicitari e dedicandosi alla parte grafica di opere quali, opuscoli informativi promossi dalla Provincia di Padova.

Per la REGIONE del VENETO realizza“LE RADICI DEL RICORDO” opera sull’esodo dall’Istria e il fumetto “BULLO FASULLO”, destinato alla campagna di sensibilizzazione contro il bullismo.

Sempre per la REGIONE del VENETO ha recentemente terminato di curare la parte grafica di un videogioco interattivo che si propone di sensibilizzare i ragazzi sull’informazione agro-alimentare.

Nel 2006, collabora anche con il regista Antonello Belluco (S. Antonio Guerriero di Dio), realizzando per il suo spettacolo teatrale “Stregati Per La Vita”, le illustrazioni per la locandina e depliant pubblicitario.

Dai primi mesi del 2007 è ospite presso la claDIS di TV, Facoltà di Disegno Industriale, dove nel "Laboratorio di fondamenti del design bidimensionale” del prof. Gabriele De Vecchi, tiene una lezione sul fumetto e la comunicazione per immagini.

Si dedica anche all’insegnamento.

Dal 2003 indottrina le giovani menti all’arte sequenziale e dal 2008 è Docente presso la sede di Padova della SCUOLA INTERNAZIONALE DI COMICS

Nel 2015 inizia la sua collaborazione con l'editore francese Des Bulles Dans L'Océan per cui sta attualmente lavorando al secondo volume di Fièvre!

Born in 1966, from Padua, after making his way through the ranks of different publishing companies, he makes his debut in the world of the sequential art in 1994, when he is among the finalists of “PRATOCOMICS”, a contest for emerging authors.

He then works with minor publishing companies, on fanzines and on small self-publications; he applies himself to the world of commercial illustration too, making drawings and 3D animations for short ads.

In 2001 he cooperates with “EDIZIONI ORIONE” of Turin, for which he draws four issues of “ARES” of the “Fantasy Warriors” series.

In that period he starts a collaboration with Cedric Rassat: the effort results in “TONY PASTELLO”, a project proposed to “GLENAT” which has not yet seen the light due to publishing problems.

In 2004 he gets to “FREE BOOKS”, where he draws the deeds of Giuseppe di Bernardo and Andrea J. Polidori’s creature, “DESDY METUS, L’INSONNE” (Desdy Metus, the Insomniac).

In 2005 Federico Memola invites him to join the team that will work on “JONATHAN STEELE” for STAR COMICS – publishing house which he still cooperates with. He is now working on a new "Jonathan Steele" issue called “L’ARTE DEL FURTO” (The art of theft).

In 2006 he cooperates with several Venetian communication agencies, drawing illustrations and advertising storyboards, working on the graphic layouts of educational booklets for the provincial administration of Padua. For the Veneto region he makes “LE RADICI DEL RICORDO” (The roots of memory), a work on the Istrian exodus, and "BULLO FASULLO" (Fake bully), a comic designed for an awareness campaign against bullying.

For the Veneto region he also worked on the graphic art of a videogame designed to sensitize teen agers awareness of agricultural food eating issues.

Also in 2006, he works with the director Antonello Belluco, drawing the poster and the advertising brochure for his play “Stregati per la Vita” (Bewitched for life).

From the beginning of 2007 he is a visiting lecturer at the Treviso claDIS, Facoltà di Disegno Industriale (Faculty of Industrial Design), where he teaches comics and visual communication in professor Gabriele De Vecchi "Laboratorio di fondamenti del design bidimensionale” (Two-dimensional design basis workshop)

From 2003 he has been holding comics courses, imbuing the younger minds with the sequential art; from 2008 he teaches at the Padua branch of "Scuola Internazionale di Comics" (International School of Comics).

He is currently working on the second volume of Fièvre, for the French publisher Des Bulles Dans L'Océan!
